Almost a month ago I went on a trip to Cebu with Alyssa. But for some reason I can't call it with because we didn't arrive and leave together. Alyssa was there for five days within the nine days I was there. The main purpose we went was for Nazarene Youth Congress to speak about True Love Waits but like all other previous trips we've taken, we always find leisure in seeing and experiencing new things. =)
While Alyssa was still packing and preparing for the trip in Manila, my cousins took me to the oldest cathedral seen below. Basilica del Sto. NiƱo circa 1565. It really is old and somehow statues were creepy.
The balloon vendor let us hold his balloons.
Then we went to another cathedral, Cebu Cathedral (1865), one block away from the Basilica.
Shhh... there's a wedding ceremony going on!
Then we went to Fort San Pedro which used to be a citadel for Spanish soldiers.
From a citadel to a park.
My cousins JC and Tre.
Two days later, Alyssa arrived in Cebu and off we went to Mactan shrine. To see history around and...
To shop for souvenirs. :)
The following day we we travelled two hours south of Cebu City for the Nazarene Youth Congress. The venue where it was held was a resort called Hidden Paradise. And man, it really is hidden.
The last cottage at the end was where Alyssa and I stayed. And it wasn't only in the last cottage that we stayed, but in the last and furthermost room. Talk about being hidden in the mountains!
The view from our terrace.
NYC delegates at the True Love Waits session.
Lovely girls from NYC who attended True Love Waits. They've been such a blessing!
Right after our last session for True Love Waits in NYC, we went back to Cebu City. We went to Ayala Terraces for dinner.
Ayala Terraces at day. It's a nice open park. I rather prefer it than Greenbelt in Manila. In the last picture, can you tell me how many of them are taking pictures of each other? :)
God gave us some extra money so we treated ourselves to a Vietnamese dinner.
This lemonade beats all! Breath-takingly refreshing!
For Alyssa's last day, we walked Mactan Bridge for sunset and city lights.
Walking over a big body of water makes me excited. Such excitement that if I wasn't tired, I'd walk it again. What I did after Alyssa left will be for another post. I wish her flight was two days delayed so she could have joined me in the island adventure. But then, it didn't happen that way. *sigh* Next time, next time.
