Cordiality of Men

There are plenty to complain about men and their prevalent obnoxious behavior that even ten 2000-word blog posts cannot contain it. And I’m very much tempted to do that. But then again, what benefit is that to me? Or to you? It would only result to annoying and  tiresome rants and continued laments of Why-Are-Men-Today-Like-This-And-That. So instead of treading toward that path, I decide to write encounters with  men who value courtesy and propriety in society, in hope of encouraging you reader,

  • that small gestures are appreciated and esteemed by femininity of all ages,
  • and that they may multiply from rarity to conventionality.

Two weeks ago, it was another usual day of riding the ever-crowded train that goes through the city. The train just arrived and everyone’s bustling to get into the narrow door. I let all rushing people ahead of me because as much as city life always drive people insane, I want my travel to work be pleasurable. As I waited for my turn to step into the train, a young man in front of me quickly glanced behind and stepped sideways to offer me passage. He only not stepped aside to give way but he also extended out his hand to the door and nodded at me to make it plain as   day that he wants me to enter before him. Some men would step aside but scarcely would men openly extend their hand out to strangers.
